Ministry of Women and Child Development Internship 2026: Govt of India Internship for Women

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) invites applications for its prestigious Internship Programme. This initiative is designed to provide women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers with qualitative exposure to the Ministry’s mandate, policy analysis, and ongoing developmental projects.

Program Overview

Selected interns will undertake pilot projects or micro-studies focusing on the Ministry's core activities, empowering them to advocate for women and children’s issues across various national and international platforms.

Eligibility Criteria

Target Group: Exclusively for women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers.
Regional Focus: Priority is given to candidates from Non-Tier I cities and rural regions of India.
Institutional Affiliation: Applicants must be enrolled in or associated with a recognized university, academic, or non-academic institution.
Age Limit: 21 – 40 years.
Financial Benefits & Facilities
Stipend: A consolidated monthly stipend of ₹20,000.
Travel Reimbursement: Reimbursement for travel (Deluxe/AC Bus or 3-Tier AC Train) for the commencement and completion of the internship.
Accommodation: Optional hostel facility (on a sharing basis) provided in Delhi for the duration of the program.
Duration & Batch Cycles
The internship is a two-month program conducted in four batches per financial year:
May – June
August – September
November – December
February – March
Application Details
Capacity: Limited to 20 interns per batch.
Application Window: Applications must be submitted online between the 1st and 10th of the month, two months prior to the start of the batch (e.g., March 1st–10th for the May batch).
Policy: Candidates who have previously interned with the Ministry are not eligible to re-apply.
